e-Prescribing has barely changed in a generation
Over the past twenty years, the way physicians work has changed completely. Cloud-based patient records, telehealth, automated billing: health platforms have evolved fast. e-Prescribing has moved at a different pace. Most tools were designed to satisfy a system of stakeholders and constraints, rarely around the people who prescribe every day. Many clinicians have simply learned to live with them.
At the same time, prescribing has become more demanding. For the physicians who will use it every day, Synapse Prescribe changes three things.
- Faster prescribing. We simplified the prescribing workflow to remove unnecessary steps, so clinicians can write and send a prescription in moments. EPCS activation relies on modern identity verification, with no hardware tokens and no third-party portals.
- Safer prescribing. Drug interaction and allergy checks run in real time, right at the moment of prescribing. Safety is built into the workflow, not added as another layer.
- Smarter prescribing. Clinical decision support surfaces the right information at the right time, instead of piling on alerts. And the product evolves with the people who use it: feedback from clinicians and partners directly shapes our roadmap.
For platforms, Synapse Prescribe adapts to each environment. It can be embedded directly into the software, or activated as an app from a marketplace, as with Hint Health. Either way, e-prescribing and its compliance stay with our team. Synapse Prescribe has been EPCS-certified by DirectTrust since 2020, and our 2026 review, which covers the full scope of DEA requirements, closed with no corrective action required. Platforms focus on their product, we keep prescribing moving forward. More than 60 partner software solutions already integrate Synapse Medicine products.
